The AFC Academy Program is designed for children ages 6 to 9 (U9 and U10) looking for a more competitive and instructional environment than recreational soccer. For any child interested in playing select/competitive soccer at U11 and above, this is the program you cannot afford to miss.
The Academy Program focuses on preparing players for select soccer by developing fundamental ball skills and introducing small sided tactics. The program is run under the direction of our Academy Director and coached by our Professional Coaching Staff. Players train twice a week August through December in the fall and January through May in the spring.
WHAT IS ACADEMY LEVEL SOCCER?
Academy level soccer is a PDF-led (Player Development Friendlies) initiative started in 2013 by the Arsenal FC to improve the training environment and development of young players during the “Golden Age” of player development. The driving idea is to let more skillful and advanced U7 through U10 players to play with and against each other while requiring qualifying clubs to follow a number of player development guidelines. A key feature of Academy soccer is the PDF League. Only clubs capable of meeting the Academy guidelines are eligible to compete in the PDF Academy League.
TEAM PLACEMENT
There are no tryouts at this age group. Any child interested in potentially playing select/competitive soccer at U11 and above should play Academy soccer starting at U7. All interested children and parents are encouraged to attend one of our “Gunners Clinics” to practice with our professional coaches and learn more about the Academy Program.
If you missed or are not able to attend a Kick-Around, CHILDREN CAN SIGN UP AT ANY TIME BY REGISTERING ONLINE. All players who registered will be placed on our Academy teams.
COST
AFC Academy yearly fees includes all training (fall, winter, and spring), league and administrative costs. The only additional costs are registration fees for tournaments, coach's expenses for tournaments (mileage, per diem, and coaching fee), and uniform purchase.

(not included in registration, ordered separately). Sizing will need to be done at our Club house at 75 Maske Road.

Your player will need a size 4 ball, Shin Guards and the training uniform shown below. Use any Blue colored shirt arrives until the Arsenal Blue training shirt arrives.
